40 NEW THINGS – DAYS 12-15

I am sure by now most of you know what I am banging on about, if not you can read about the start of this journey here. For those who do know, welcome back and let me tell you I am now more than halfway through and I am absolutely exhausted in the best possible way, I swear 40 days didn’t seem that long at the start of this! This could have seriously been one of the best things I have ever done, I feel like a totally different woman in the best possible sense! So here we go…….

Day 12:

I have also wanted to try a driving range, however not having a single idea about golf or what to do, I thought I would look like a right twat. And to be fair I did look like a right twat for at least the first thirty minutes. However after a while, I looked slightly better, thankfully the driving range was pretty quiet although I’m pretty sure the young lads on reception were laughing at me. But now I know what to do I would love to make it a weekly activity, I went straight after work and the fresh air was wonderful especially after sitting in an office all day. Not sure playing actual golf would ever be for me but the range was a great stress reliever but never say never maybe golf will be on my next challenge.

Day 13:

I live 30 miles from where I work, I live the furthest away by a good 15 miles so when my colleagues suggest any after work activity I always turn it down in favour of the hour and a half drive home. Day 13 I decided to actually accept their offer and go out for tea with them instead of just going home and going bed! I don’t think there is a single person in my office that isn’t 100% supporting me on this challenge to which I am thankful for because they are really turning into my second family! What I learnt from day 13 is that going home a couple of hours later is much better for me, it took me 30 minutes less to get home, I was no more tired than usual and I made some real connections with some beautiful ladies. From now on I will be accepting all offers.

Day 14:

I really can’t tell you just how supportive my work colleagues have been and how much love they have not only shown me, when me and Alex broke up but continue to show me as I heal. This beautiful lady came along with me to a fitness class at inflatanation and I am pretty sure if she had not I would have given up halfway through. I haven’t laughed so much in what feels like forever, imagine half laughing, half gasping for oxygen and my big sweaty red self, trying to keep balance. This challenge is certainly teaching me that despite the long work days I don’t need to just go home, there are loads of pretty cheap things to do in the evenings that actually don’t have a single negative effort on my life at all. I will never have an excuse for not making the most of each day again!

Day 15:

Hot yoga has changed my life and something I don’t plan on stopping any time soon! Possibly the most relaxing thing I have ever done, the instructor helped too. It was the first time in a very long time that I was actually able to switch my brain off and just listen to what my body needed. I left the class on cloud nine, I would recommend that everyone should try this, the high afterwards was incredible. I have already booked classes to take up regular sessions once I complete my 40 days.

I can safely say that this challenge is changing me in ways that I never thought were possible, as I am writing this I am on day 24 with 16 more days to go and I honestly can’t imagine how much better life could get. My self-confidence is growing with every day that goes by, I am agreeing to do things that I never imagined I would be comfortable with. I have met some beautiful woman or I already consider friends, I constantly walk around with a big bright smile. I am so thankful for all the love I have received whilst doing this challenge, I am truly touched beyond words.
