STAY AT HOME // GREEN FINGERS, SISTERS & SECRET WATERFALL

“Every day of quarantine is a fine opportunity to fuck up things all over again and not worrying about it. Because there is no one to watch your mess.”

On the 1st of January, I had so many high hopes for 2020, not just adventures but personal goals, relationship status and family time and let me tell you 2020 has well and truly fucked me up the arse without lube! But that is another post (next Monday I will be posting about it all). Being the girl that forever looks for the positive in people and situations I am taking self-isolation one day at a time and adjusting my days to how I am feeling. I am certainly not feeling any pressure to learn something new, workout every day or discover a hidden talent. Basically I am doing what I need to do for myself to get through this (while sticking to the rules, I bloody love a rule) and feeling no guilt about it because when it is all over it will be me who has to adjust again to the real world. So please don’t feel any pressure to be doing anything that you simply just don’t want to do it’s not worth your mental health!

I don’t know if I was more happy about the outfit choice or the fact I had only gone and flippin planted some herbs!!!

Although if my previous gardening attempts are anything to go by, I’m in for a whole lotta heartbreak!!! 💔
I need everyone’s positive vibes over the next couple of week or so to help these tiny little seeds come to life!!! I will be showering them with positive words to help them pop up!!

  • Note, they all died, I mean how the hell did I manage to kill mint. Mint grows everywhere and yet I managed to kill it. I won’t be adding “green fingers” to my CV anytime soon that’s for sure!!

I have been stopping for a brew with my sister & niece during my daily exercise, well through the window! They were in total lockdown as my sister had a really awful cough!! Thankfully the cough went, my sister works in a care home and although they have the full kit (masks, gloves etc) it still scares the crap out of me and her. I can’t imagine how hard it is to go through this with a child but Alisa has every toy imaginable in the garden so every day has been a fun adventure for her.
I took a flask of tea & a cup with me and we chatted away. My 3-year-old niece played games with me through the window and the highlight of the trip was my sister picking my niece up to wave goodbye to me and my niece weeing on her (current potty training struggles) I don’t think I’ve laughed so much during self-isolation! Memories that will last a life time!

I literally can’t wait to give them both a big kiss!! Before this I was totally not a hugger, after this I am going to start hugging everyone even the postman!

One of the things I miss the most is wild swimming but instead of getting down heartened I decided to have a little swim adventure, just being in the water makes me very happy! My journey started by having to swim through a narrow gap I had discovered the perfect little spot for a dip just north of my kitchen, the banks on either side were alight (which smelt strongly of vanilla) once I passed the flames I discovered a beautiful lagoon, however, its surface was covered in an odd yet pleasantly scented foam. I swam with only the sound of bird song to keep me company and the distant sound of water falling. After a lengthy swim, I discovered a powerful waterfall. The water was surprisingly warm for early April. Getting tired from all the swimming I decided to head back before nightfall.
What a perfect spring wild swim 🌊

It was a wonderful surprise to discover a waterfall at the end of my swim!! Memories I will never forget!
