“Once your feet have touched the warm sun drenched sand of the seashore you will never ever be the same.” Patsy Gant
After what felt like a dream of a day I couldn’t let my first day in Cornwall end without a trip to the beach. Portreath beach was a just 30 minutes walk from my campsite and the perfect little beach to watch the sunset. I wrapped myself up in a big jumper and played in the sea before finding a piece of sand next to the sea wall to curl up in and watch the world go by!
Watching the waves crashing at the beach was lovely. With the scenery it’s understandable as to why so many people were using the beach – even though it was pretty chilly. Watching the waves breaking here was lovely, there were even people hitting the surf although I might wait until it warms up a bit before I try surfing.
Here are just some of my favourite pictures from the evening! (there is only so much even I can ramble on about just sitting on a beach)
Windswept, wet and tired I couldn’t think of a better feeling or a better way to end my first day back in Cornwall.
Eventually I started strolling back to my campsite, tired, covered in sand, soaked to my thighs and smelling a bit like seaweed. A truly amazing end to the day only bettered with a brew and smores once I got back to my tent!
