I feel like I have been gushing about friends this week, sorry if it’s not your thing but you have a couple more days of it! However I do write about what I am going through and currently, I am praising the shit out of my friends cause seriously they have to put up with me!
Yesterday I gushed about Aimie and promised you a treat of a loo post today! Just as a side note the loos happen to be in The Ivy which has just opened in Spinningfields, Manchester. As soon as we heard it was opening we booked a table, unfortunately, we had to wait two months for a table to be available. I mainly wanted to go to The Ivy because basically, I am an arsehole who wanted to go The Ivy and luckily Aimie was willing to support that (you can tell who the better friend is right?). However, I can safely say it surprised me in a good way, not the creepy clown way! This is not an Ad or sponsored post just a meal I enjoyed with Aimie and wanted to share. I have been enjoying a lot of meals out lately and not half enough treadmill time.
I can safely say that the interior was just beautiful! Not what I was expecting in the slightest, the staff are immaculately presented and happy to help (well appear that way). The interior really is an Instagrammers dream, I could have taken a million pictures however not wanting to look like an utter tourist I held my inner crazy back and enjoyed the experience! But seriously even the lift is decorated nicer than my house!
I drank Charndoary and Aimie had a mocktail, this is where The Ivy make their money, although still not as expensive as I thought they would be. It was still in the am so I held myself back to just one wine, but I am planning an evening of cocktails here because the bar is just stunning for a moment you feel like you have stepped back in time.
Told you the bar was stunning!
Finally got a nice picture of myself and my bloody nose ring is wonky, bloody typical! Also, where was Aimie to fix this? I would also like to take a second to say this dress was £8 in the Asda, George sale and is probably one of my favourite dresses! And my hair did what it was told, I don’t know exactly when it happened but in the last 6 months, I have started being much kinder to myself. In the past, I would have only focused on the things I wanted to change about myself and now I try to concrete on the positives. Like I have gone up a dress size in the last year but I feel more womanly and finally have boobs! Anyway, this took a weird non-food turn, back to the actual blog post!
What we ate, I had avocado and spinach Benedict and chips. Avocado, raw baby spinach, two poached hen’s eggs on toasted English muffins, hollandaise sauce and sesame, with thick cut chips
Aimie had eggs Royale and chips. Smoked salmon, two poached hen’s eggs, toasted English muffins, hollandaise sauce, watercress and thick cut chips. And we shared Sprouting broccoli, lemon oil and sea salt.
I would go as far as to say that despite it only being brunch it was one of the best meals I have eaten, absolutely sensational and more than worth the wait. In fact before we left we made sure we had booked to go again. The most shocking part was that the food actually seems no more expensive than anywhere else in Manchester but tasted compliantly different. How can The Ivy produce fresh, delicious meals at the same price as other places with twice the flavour and above and beyond service?
Which is now something I am going to think about before booking anywhere to eat, I am worried that this has now ruined me for other restaurants. I don’t want to talk too much about the food because you really need to go and experience it for yourself, I promise it will be worth it!
Now lets took toilets not usually my favourite subject but on this occasion, I will make an exception. Have you have seen a toilet so beautiful, I mean slightly excessive with a pinch of unnecessary, these loos are nicer than my house. They have taken #tolietselfie to a new level, thank you to the waiter who when we asked where the toilets were sent us to these because we wouldn’t want to miss them! I kid you not every person I have seen since visiting The Ivy I have shown these pictures too, I am pretty sure I showed an old lady in the street them! When I finally pick a house I want to buy I am decorating it from floor to ceiling like this and I am not even kidding, I grew up in a house that looked like a rainbow had exploded in it (the kitchen was lime green and hot pink) and I couldn’t imagine ever having a grey/white house.
And this is why you should also consider hand placement in photographs, I mean really what is going on with my hand?! Again £8 Asda dress! I wish they did it in other colours because I am pretty sure I wear this 4 times a week now and will continue to wear it until it falls apart!
Also if you have any restaurant recommendations please let me know, I am always looking for new places to eat!
