Before we start this blog post can we just take a minute to discuss how freaking gorgeous my niece is! She changes so much every week and she has turned into a little princess she is definitely her mother’s daughter. This little girl is going to grow into such an incredible woman and take over the world!
If you have no idea what 80 days of summer is all about, then where have you been!? Don’t worry you can catch up here. But basically for 80 days, I am going to make sure I do something every single day that makes the most of summer, some things will be new some won’t. This challenge is to show that life is really made for living, no excuses, no wasting days! Just happiness every single day!
Ok so for how wonderful of a little girl she is, she clearly doesn’t take after aunty or mother when it comes to the sea!
A couple of weeks ago I had to take a few days break from my 80 days challenge due to some family issues. It has been a really heartbreaking time for us. no matter how much I love my blog my family comes first. I spent a lot of time with them all offering support and love. During one of these, we thought we would get away from it all and go to the beach. So we left our troubles behind and headed to New Brighton for a day of fun.
This blog post is a little different than normal, I didn’t want to go into any more details as it really is a deeply private time for us at the moment but I still wanted to document the day. It was the first time me and my brother got to see Alisa at the beach, me my brother and sister are so close when it comes to issues. We can normally go for weeks without seeing each other, but we always know we have each others back.
“Family is a unique gift that needs to be appreciated and treasured, even when they’re driving you crazy. As much as they make you mad, interrupt you, annoy you, curse at you, try to control you, these are the people who know you the best and who love you.” Jenna Morasca
Alisa is now 14 months old and look how tiny she is against me. It seems like only yesterday that I watched her come into the world hair and all. Now is running around and talking a little, her personality is getting so big, currently, she is at the stage where everything needs to be stored down the toilet and the remote controls need to be hidden.

The sea is the best cure for everything, this year I must have had more beach days then I have had in the last few years. But its just so hard to be sad or angry when stood in front of the sea. It has this amazing power to fix everything and remind you how small you really are. I am seriously thinking that I need to move closer to the sea!
“Sisters are for sharing laughter and wiping tears.”
“A lighthouse doesn’t save the ships; it doesn’t go out and rescue them, it’s just this pillar that helps to guide people home.” Lea Michele
“There is no problem that sisters cannot confront, combat, plot against, ignore, make fun of, drown in chocolate sauce, or run over with the car.” — Unknown

After the afternoon making sandcastles, laughing, crying and making plans we headed in search of fish and chips! Can you even go to the seaside without stopping for fish and chips!? I had Alisa on my knee while trying to eat, to all mothers and fathers out there, you all deserve a medal. She ate half of my dinner and played with the rest whilst poking me in the face with a fork. However, on the upside, she was having a whale of a time!
