If you have no idea what 80 days of summer is all about, then where have you been!? Don’t worry you can catch up here. But basically for 80 days, I am going to make sure I do something every single day that makes the most of summer, some things will be new some won’t. This challenge is to show that life is really made for living, no excuses, no wasting days! Just happiness every single day!

Now I am not sure how some things happen but last Friday me and my beautiful friend Anna went out for dinner in Nantwich, just a 5-minute car ride from our house and ended up playing in an amusement arcade 58 miles away from home with a beach trip in the middle of those two destinations! These things could only happen to me! So let’s start at the bringing I guess, we have been dying to try Deadwood smokehouse in Nantwich but between the two of us we kept forgetting to book a table and this place is forever fully booked so after the last time we got turned away we finally made a booking.

I went for a chicken burger with waffles and maple syrup, I was massively disappointed. The chicken to waffle ratio was all off and it just wasn’t enjoyable, in fact, the whole place wasn’t that great not sure why it’s fully booked always, there are some amazing restaurants in the area. Unfortunately, this isn’t one of them!

I was spending the evening with Anna another Bumble BFF and my soul sister when it comes to the sea and all things magical. This was also the Friday of the solar eclipse and we both really wanted to see it but the weather had predicted a cloudy night. Somehow we had decided that if we were going to be able to see the moon, seeing it at the beach would be perfect, next thing you know I am asking Google where the nearest beach is and before you know it we are on a road trip.

Turns out the nearest beach from our home is Talacre beach in North Wales. Look how happy I am to be near the sea.

I think there are two kinds of people in the world, the kind that forever wants to be near the sea and then everyone else. I have never had a problem that being near the sea couldn’t fix, something about the sounds of the waves and the sea air that makes everything better and I believe you either get it or you don’t.

About the lighthouse…………………………….

“Wales’ oldest lighthouse, Point of Ayr Lighthouse keeps watch over the fierce Irish Sea. Built in 1776, the lighthouse remained active for over 100 years until its closure in 1883.

Nowadays, the lighthouse remains a commanding figure on the peaceful Talacre beach. If you’re visiting the lighthouse, be sure to keep an eye out for The Keeper. A 7ft sculpture which keeps a careful watch over the sea. Point of Ayr Lighthouse is said to be one of the most haunted structures in North Wales. Many sightings of a keeper on top of the lighthouse have been reported. Mediums have described sensing a presence of a man who had his heart broken. Others pick up the feeling of a man with a fever, reportedly how the old keeper passed.”

“A lighthouse is not interested in who gets its light! It just gives it without thinking! Giving light is its nature!” Mehmet Murat ildan

I am pretty sure you are now sick of the sight of the lighthouse, just a couple more picture I promise #sorrynotsorry

So as you can tell the sky was a little cloudly and after an hour exploring the beach, we decided that we were not going to see the moon! In need of sugar and not wanting the night to end I remembered that Rhyl was just down the road. Now you either know about Rhyl or you don’t for children in the north of England it was either the place you went on holiday to every year or a place you never visited once depending on your household income, We both went on holiday here so despite being for lack of a better word run down now. Rhyl will always hold lots of childhood memories for the both of us. It is definitely one of those places you take with a pinch of salt and except it is what it is.

“A lighthouse doesn’t save the ships; it doesn’t go out and rescue them, it’s just this pillar that helps to guide people home.”  Lea Michele

So we made it to Rhyl, Friday night in the middle of summer and there was barely a soul around, just a couple of older ladies playing bingo. The air was filled with the smell of doughnuts and the sound of a hundred arcade machines playing their tunes. The second I stepped out of my car my childhood hit me like a ton of bricks, I do have lovely memories of a happy childhood here and the excitement of a holiday near the beach.

First things first, get sugared up!

Rhyl must have the biggest collection of vintage carpets by now, I swear this carpet was here 30 plus years ago when I first started visiting and god knows how long it had been there before that.

What an evening and not how I thought the evening would go, Uttley exhausted but very happy we decided to head home after an hour and £30 spent trying to win a teddy bear. Some of the best nights of your life will just happen, this summer I have created some wonderful memories and met some amazing people along the way. I am by far the happiest I have ever been, I feel more loved than I ever have and have the best circle of friends. I have the life I have always wanted even if it looks different to other peoples and doesn’t follow the norm. I don’t have a boyfriend, house or kids but I have a life filled with love and adventure and at the end of the day that is all that really matters.
