“All in all, it was a never to be forgotten summer — one of those summers which come seldom into any life, but leave a rich heritage of beautiful memories in their going — one of those summers which, in a fortunate combination of delightful weather, delightful friends and delightful doing, come as near to perfection as anything can come in this world.” —L.M. Montgomery, Anne’s House of Dreams

If you have no idea what 80 days of summer is all about, then where have you been!? Don’t worry you can catch up here. But basically for 80 days, I am going to make sure I do something every single day that makes the most of summer, some things will be new some won’t. This challenge is to show that life is really made for living, no excuses, no wasting days! Just happiness every single day!

“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.” ~Albert Einstein

I feel like this challenge has been the most incredible blessing in life, it came as a way to cope after a break up and turned my whole life upside down. Day 39 was a trip to Biddulph Gardens, a beautiful /national Trust about 40 minutes from my house. I am the biggest believer in the fact that being outside in nature can heal everything, it can change you as a person and show you what a beautiful world we live in. I am yet to come across anything that nature can not heal, being outside makes me feel energised and refreshed, I am sure I am going to end up just living in a log cabin in the woods always being barefoot. I have blogged about these gardens a hundred times so I thought  I would share some of my favourite nature quotes with you and highly suggest that time you go outside and just enjoy the world in all her glory.

“To me a lush carpet of pine needles or spongy grass is more welcome than the most luxurious Persian rug.” ~Helen Keller

“The human spirit needs places where nature has not been rearranged by the hand of man.” ~Author Unknown

“Look at the trees, look at the birds, look at the clouds, look at the stars… and if you have eyes you will be able to see that the whole existence is joyful. Everything is simply happy. Trees are happy for no reason; they are not going to become prime ministers or presidents and they are not going to become rich and they will never have any bank balance. Look at the flowers — for no reason. It is simply unbelievable how happy flowers are.” ~Osho

“This grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never all dried at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal sunset, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls.” —John Muir, John of the Mountains: The Unpublished Journals of John Muir

“Sometimes Mother Nature has the answers when you do not even know the questions.” ~Keith Wynn,

“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. … There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature — the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.”—Rachel Carson, Silent Spring

“One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today.” Dale Carnegie

“All the lessons are in nature. You look at the way rocks are formed – the wind and the water hitting them, shaping them, making them what they are. Things take time, you know?” Diane Lane

“‘To sit in the shade on a fine day, and look upon verdure, is the most perfect refreshment.'”—Jane Austen, Mansfield Park

“Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.”—John Muir, Our National Parks

“These people have learned not from books, but in the fields, in the wood, on the river bank. Their teachers have been the birds themselves, when they sang to them, the sun when it left a glow of crimson behind it at setting, the very trees, and wild herbs.”―Anton Chekhov, “A Day in the Country”

“Do activities you’re passionate about – which make your heart and soul feel perky – including things like working out, cooking, painting, writing, yoga, hiking, walking, swimming, being in nature, being around art, or reading inspiring books.” Karen Salmansohn
