“Rejoice as summer should chase away sorrows by living.” Melissa Marr

If you have no idea what 80 days of summer is all about, then where have you been!? Don’t worry you can catch up here. But basically for 80 days, I am going to make sure I do something every single day that makes the most of summer, some things will be new some won’t. This challenge is to show that life is really made for living, no excuses, no wasting days! Just happiness every single day!

My life seems to have turned into the most perfect balancing act known to man! I have no idea how I manage to get through the days without collapsing into a heap on the floor. My life is by no means perfect but it is happy thanks to having a job I love and the most amazing support system of friends and family. Not that I am a bad person or anything but I feel like this is the first time in my life that I am really making an effort not to take people for granted and really work on those bonds.

Me and my brother have been talking about going Warwick castle for years and years now, its only about 2 hours away from us but it is just one of those things we just have not got round to doing. So I decided to surprise with a trip there. My brother is very poorly now and we are not sure how much longer he is going to be mobile for so days like this mean the world to both of us. My brother and sister are my world and I would do anything to take either of their pain away.

Warwick castle is beautiful however being run by the Merlin group it is very commercialised, this beautiful castle with its beautiful history is now just a way to make a lot of money. And I get that how most things are run and I know this money helps keep the castle in the condition it is in. It would just be nice it feel like you weren’t in a theme park while walking around it.

The history bit…………

Warwick Castle is a medieval castle developed from an original built by William the Conqueror in 1068. Warwick is the county town of Warwickshire, England, situated on a bend of the River Avon. The original wooden motte-and-bailey castle was rebuilt in stone in the 12th century. During the Hundred Years War, the facade opposite the town was refortified, resulting in one of the most recognisable examples of 14th-century military architecture. It was used as a stronghold until the early 17th century when it was granted to Sir Fulke Greville by James I in 1604. Greville converted it to a country house and it was owned by the Greville family, who became Earls of Warwick in 1759, until 1978 when it was bought by the Tussauds Group.

As per usual I have taken far too many pictures and not edited them down enough, something it seems that I will never learn.

I would just like to point out that when I left my house it was cold and gloomy however by lunchtime it had become the hottest day of the year. I may have been smiling in this picture but I was really sat next to the foundation because the water was cool and I kept dipping my arms in.

I would like to say there is another picture of me here because I wanted a picture in front of a pretty view. Truth is, I just wanted a little rest and used taking a picture as an excuse to stop! #sorrynotsorry

The castle really is beautiful it reminds me of Camelot, Who else remembers going to Camelot as a child??? I really wish it was still going!

I would highly suggest if you are planning on visiting taking your own drinks, especially in this heat. Between the two of us, we spent £20 on just water. We also spent a fortune on food that really wasn’t nice, if I was to visit again I would definitely take a picnic.

I had such a lovely day it was amazing to get to spend the full day with my brother, however, I could tell the walking really affected him but he is such a kind person that he would never complain despite being in pain. It breaks my heart to think he is younger than me and suffering so much. I really would do everything possible to take it away from him. While I was there I noticed a nighttime event which I know he will love and it’s on his birthday so I am going to book it and surprise him with it.
